Hello,
So my last post was all in anticipation of carrying out an activity at work using, cars traffic lights and scissors. However, I noticed that my 1:1s couldn't cut or draw/hold a pencil properly. I decided to put together a range of activities to help them progress. This included cutting playdough with scissors.
All the children loved this activity, and even the boys who normally get bored of activities quickly sat for ages, rolling sausages, squeezing the dough and cutting shapes!!! we didn't enjoy cleaning the mess up!
As a follow up activity, to see if the childrens grip ect had changed, i decided that on a last minute whim, it would be great fun to trace over the car mat using chunky felt tips! Cue chaos from every child in the room!
All the children loved this activity, and we taped loads of little sheets of tracing paper together, and let the children all join in together. My 1:1 children, had their own special little piece that went into the books, and interestingly i found that one of the boys sat there for ages, whilst the other wasn't that interested.
Sadly, i dont have any pictures of these activities, but have started making resources at home, so hurrah pictures shall be up from now on :)
